The North Leeds Charity Beer Festival

The Rotary Club of Roundhay’s Magnificent Seventh!!

The North Leeds Charity Beer Festival celebrates its seventh year and returns to North Leeds Cricket Club on the 6-7 April 2018. The festival is jointly organised by the Rotary Club of Roundhay with the help of Sam Parker, a member of The British Guild of Beer Writers. The annual charity fundraising event is now an established highlight in the Roundhay social calendar. To celebrate this milestone we will be dispensing 35 beers from seven small independent and micro-breweries together with seven ciders. A novel addition to the 2018 festival will be our new Gin Bar serving seven incredible gins from small producers that you won't find anywhere else, along with new tonics, mixers and tasty botanicals!

The festival is known for some serious entertainment which showcase local Leeds musical talent and 2018 will see past favourites as well as new talent. We have a full programme of music playing over the two day festival. To compliment the fine selection of real ale, cider & gin we will be serving food to suit the occasion throughout the Festival.

Since 2012 The Rotary Club of Roundhay’s beer festival has raised over £30k and charities based locally in Leeds, nationally and Internationally have benefitted. Local organisations to receive financial support include: St Gemma’s Hospice, John Jamieson School, Roundhay Stroke Club, Catch in Harehills and Leeds Rowing Club based at Roundhay Park Lake, where two rowing machines were funded. Local Rotary programmes including the ocean-going Young Sailor, Young Musician, Young Writer, Young Citizen, Young Chef, Leeds Technology Tournament and Rotary Youth Leadership Award have also received funding from the monies raised.

We are indebted to our major sponsors Morley Glass and Glazing Ltd and Express Bi-Folding Doors for their continued support without which the festival wouldn’t take place and the Rotary Club of Roundhay couldn’t fund their worthwhile projects.

Ian Short, Managing Director of Morley Glass says: “We are delighted to be able to sponsor the 7th Annual North Leeds Charity Beer Festival. This is exactly the type of initative we like to be involved with as it perfectly reflects our ethos of giving back to local communities. I personally will be rolling up my sleeves and helping alongside the Rotarians and I am very much looking forward to the event. I wish NLBF and the Rotary Club of Roundhay every success.” We would also like acknowledge the support of our individual sponsors and advertisers whose contribution is invaluable.

North Leeds Cricket Club open their doors at 6pm on Friday and from 12noon on Saturday. The cost of entry is £10, however you can get a £2 discount by booking your tickets in advance online – members of CAMRA or SPBW will get a £2 discount regardless. The ticket price entitles you to a special festival pack which includes a commemorative beer glass, programme and two beer tokens, with extra tokens available for £1.50.
