Merchant Adventurers’ Charity Beer Festival

The Company of Merchant Adventurers of the City of York will be launching a new event for 2023. Taking place on the 30 June and 1 July 2023, the Merchant Adventurers’ Charity Beer Festival with Brew York will aim to raise £10,000 for the Merchant Adventurers’ Charitable Trust.

Held in the stunning, 665 year old, Merchant Adventurers’ Hall, the festival will be an opportunity for residents and visitors to enjoy a weekend of quality ales, exceptional food, local entertainment and hopefully some summer sunshine all in the heart of the city. Ale fans will have the opportunity to sample ales from over 30 breweries, attend talks by brewers and socialize in the stunning medieval Hall.

The aim of the Merchant Adventurers’ Charitable Trust is to provide inspirational experiences for as many young people as possible in state education in our region. To increase their awareness of opportunities which exist in enterprise, business and commerce and enable them to maximise their potential. Specifically supporting free school visits for York Primary Schools to the Merchant Adventurers’ Hall to enhance the teaching of history, additional classes on business and enterprise for secondary aged children and an annual programme of public lectures on Arts, Science and Business.

Advance tickets are just £4 and this includes- souvenir glass, programme, wristband and entertainment (Beer tokens to be purchased on the day, £2.50 per token, each token can be exchanged for half a pint of the beer or cider of your choice).
