Distant Fields
This celebration of land and harvest offers initial toast and bready notes on the nose, followed by red berries and subtle sweet-cherry smoke. The taste is full and round, and those red berries and redcurrants become more pronounced. The bitterness is soft and smooth, and a touch of citrus lemon balances the spice and charred maltiness.

Brewed in collaboration with the incredible Holy Goat brewery from Dundee, we've gone old school with this dream collab. Nectarmancer is a Honeyed Stingo, a strong amber bitter, fortified with 324lbs of heather honey from Norwell Apiary, and briefly aged on red oak chips. Floral, caramel balanced with the bitterness of English hops.

A reproduction of the very first beer we brewed 30 years ago! The original brew. Gyle 1 on the 1st of August 1994 brewed by Stewart. Named after the registration plate which at the time were changed on the 1st of August every year. Consecutive registration brews were N, P, R, S etc until the system changed. Each one was brewed with a single variety of hop and the same pale malt recipe.. A very pale and hoppy bitter made with Northdown hops

She Keeps It Nice
A fruit bomb with lashings of hops added throughout the boil and lots more thrown into the fermenter to give an amazing aroma and tropical taste. There is plenty of malt too giving this beer enough depth to compensate for the hop overload - can be slightly hazy due to the dry hopping

BITTER: Simonds 1880
Kernel's first Bitter. Brewed to an 1880 recipe from Simond's Brewery in Reading, via the archives of the Durden Park Beer Circle. Their notes on the beer state simply: 'Dream Bitter with a lovely flavour. A Durden Park Favourite.' The strength of the beer is typical for that era - 6% was average enough for a bitter. And the malt bill predates the common use of crystal malts (which hugely influence a modern bitter's flavour), so comprises of just Pale Ale Malt (regular Maris Otter being ideal for this purpose) and Amber Malt (a lightly toasted malt). Hopped with Goldings all the way through. Aroma of citrus, spice and hedgerow leading through to a smooth body, flavours of marmalade and a touch of tea, a touch of warmth. Firm bitterness to balance.

Sir Jeffrey Hudson, also known as “Lord Minimus” was in the service of King Charles I. Although he was only 3.5 feet tall and ironically born in Rutland, England’s smallest county, his strength was made up for in character, as the beer we’ve named after him.
